Unplugged live music
Bartons, Chilwell
Sat 4th Aug. 7.30pm

Troubadour Rose are one of the most promising bands to come out of England in the last few years. Their talent as great musicians and their knack for writing a hook makes them a definite band to watch. They supported Amy MacDonald on her last tour and are managed by the same team. They were received fantastic reviews.

Producer Pete Wilkinson has heralded Troubadour Rose as ‘…one of the most promising bands to come out of England in the last few years… their knack for writing a hook makes them a definite band to watch.'

NME say they are ‘your next burgeoning folk crush,… Check out Labour of Love and try not to swoon into a coma.

Paul WellerLove the songs, great band,!

Troubadour Rose met in London, November 2009. They comprise violin Lutheran Gary Bridgewood, banjo and mandolin player Lizzy O’Connor and songstress Bryony Afferson.

Their sound is a heady concoction of Afferson’s powerful vocals, her youth filled with Fleetwood Mac and PJ Harvey records, O’Connor’s background is steeped in Irish Trad’ sessions and now wields Banjo and Mandolin hooks to stunning effect. Kaleidoscopic fiddle player Bridgwood adds an exuberant and wild edge to the mix.

Amongst there accomplishments they composed the Strawberry Fields Soundtrack in collaboration with BBC Films, Film London and Microwave Film. Troubadour Rose’s ‘Labour of Love’ and ‘Find an Arrow’ feature as the ‘Strawberry Fields’ title tracks.

Local singer and songwriter Emma Bladen-Jones is also the lead guitartist in Nottingham’s rock band Of The Night and she writes and performs regularly. Her pure and understated vocal delivery give her a fresh and unique sound, with accomplished indie folk guitar accompaniment.
The unplugged night not only has great live music but has also become known for special cocktails of the night and local real ale.
