MORE than 1,000 people turned out for the launch of a festival which has made light of the ongoing tram chaos.
Bartons, in Chilwell Road, has launched its "Tram-A-Geddon!" season of events at its former bus garage.
Crowds flocked to the festival launch, a sell-out comedy club night. Guests included Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry.
The festival will continue on Saturday with an Oxjam gig featuring Beeston's Ceilidh Collective, including a real ale bar boasting local and national brews. It takes place from 7.30pm.
Next month, Oxjam-in aid of Oxfam -will continue with Emma Bladon Jones, who is attempting to set the record for most gigs played in one day, taking on venues across Beeston -including Bartons.
The information contained in this site is presented as accurate to the best of our knowledge - which is not all encompassing! Sadly, though we wish that it were. There are many as yet unfilled areas of our knowledge, and very likely mistakes are present in what is here. We'd love to hear about them - we've already heard about some. Don't worry about telling us how bad the HTML is though - we know. Our expertise extends to shiny paper and chatting.
Our evening was a huge success not least because of the magical Tardis that your premises offers. We could and did let our imaginations run and were able to create the illusion of a big top with clever lights and drapes.
A wonderful space with huge potential to be what ever anyone wants it to be. I can't wait to use you again.
