NOT the Camden Market - 2013

Dear all

We have worked hard over the last year to establish a regular market here at Bartons. We were confident that we had made a positive start and that the concept has been, and could again be, a good one.

At the end of last year we were amazed by the sudden announcement by NET (Nottingham Express Transit) that they intended to close in sections Chilwell Road, Beeston and High Road, Chilwell possibly until June 2014 in connection with the construction of the tram. This created considerable uncertainty about how, not only the fledging market, but our overall business would be affected.

It is with regret we have to announce that whilst the market worked well over the last year, and we are confident it has untapped potential for the future, we are unable to maintain it during the forthcoming year of tram construction, meaning there will be no more markets in 2013.

This has been a difficult decision to make, but is considered to be in the best commercial interests of the Company at this time.

Thank you so much for your support over the last year in creating a vibrant, interesting asset for Beeston. From our experiences over the last two years, it is our belief that once the period of upheaval is over, there is potential for an exciting amenity to be established at Bartons with proper long-term potential.
